We almost died
Not really but at the time I thought we might!
So about 3 am we’re all sleeping. Liv is sleeping peacefully in her crib still (YAY! success) and me and Hubs are awakened by this loud bang and crash downstairs. We both shoot up in bed and we were like what the hell was that? Hubs ran like superman into our closet, gets our gun, checks on both girls and runs downstairs with flashlight in hand. I was like whoa…that was way hot and sexy. He was like master of the universe in our house. So he goes downstairs slowly and peers around the corner and I’m like oh my gosh I better get my phone in case he shoots someone. So I’m at the top of the stairs and I’m whispering down there to see if he’s seen anything. Well he checked the whole house. Nothing. No one there. No sign of forced entry. Nothing. So he comes back to bed and we both lay there like what the hell. And Hubs says “It sounded like someone was trying to kick our door in.” So I asked him if he checked the door and he said there were no marks and with as loud as it was there would be marks. So we’re just laying there for like 10 minutes in silence but both awake thinking. And then I’m like omg…what if there’s ghosts in this house…because I always think of ghosts. So then I asked “Well did you check in the pantry?” And at the same time he’s like “ I didn’t look in the bathroom.” So I’m like well you better go because I can’t sleep til you make sure no one is hiding. So he goes back down and he came back up and he said ”I found what the noise was.” In our bathroom downstairs we have 2 heavy pictures hanging up. One picture came off one nail and slide sideways hitting the other picture next to it and that picture fell into our sink and then onto the floor. It didn’t break but it’s super heavy and definitely made that loud of a noise. I was so relieved because I was so scared thinking someone was trying to break in my house. Mostly because earlier last week the doorbell rang and Hubs wasn’t home so I didn’t answer and then I heard someone messing with my screen door and I even tweeted about it!
So I called Hubs making sure it wasnt him. It wasn’t. They went away, whoever it was, but I thought it was someone who was scoping our house out and came back Sunday night to do the job. ANYWAY we’re safe and it wasn’t a person. THANK GOD.
See? Almost died. Totally.

My boyfriend works nights so I am ALWAYS home alone by myself at night…I am not a scaredy cat but every once in awhile something freaks me out and it is a horrible feeling when you’re alone. Glad Hubby was there to protect you
And glad you found the source of the noise so you didn’t have to wonder. You would have never gotten back to sleep!

ps this is why i hate the dark. we should totally get a gun, although I think that would make me feel more unsafe

Ok, now I’m freaked out. Scary!! Good thing he checked the bathroom and thankfully the picture didn’t break. That would have been a bitch to clean up.

That is scary. At least you have Hubs to protect the family. It is just me in my casa. I would never go downstairs. I guess I’d just die in my bedroom or something.

My heart would have been jumping all over the place. In my case though, my husband would not have woken up at all! He left the front door unlocked once and I was pissed about and he had the nerve to say that he was there to protect us if anyone tried to break in. He would not hear a fire alarm! The boy sleeps!!

I don’t know why, but the last bit of your post unintentionally reminded me a bit of Rachel Zoe (if you haven’t seen the Bravo show, well you are missing the most outlandish and deliciously horrible use of enunciation, abbreviation and “sentence” structure!!
