How I almost died…and how my girls saved me
So I didn’t really almost die. But omg…I moved up to level 2 of the shred last night. Holy hell. I’d explain how I felt but really, I think my tweets from last night would do a better job.
Keep in mind that this was directly after I finished and I had to rant for a moment.
(Autotext got me there. It’s supposed to be “hell”)
And this is true. I feel like if I can keep up and actually do the workout as it’s intended without taking breaks I’d be thin and lean and TONED. Here’s to hoping I can get there in a couple days. I had to build endurance in level 1 and finally about 2 or 3 days ago I was able to pretty much do it without stopping. Now that I’m on level 2…well there is stopping. I’m hoping that in the next 5 days or so I’ll build up MORE endurance and be able to not stop. Jillian Michaels. She is effin tough. Good lord.
So after my workout, I sat on the couch in an almost comatose state as my girls ran around me and played.
Hannah was on the floor and Livie would run forward…then run backward and try not to look as she made it to Hannah’s arms. Then Hannah would hug her and Livie would crack up and then she’d burst free and run forward to do it all over again.
I was glad I had my camera nearby because I had to hobble to get it. But these are some of my favorite pictures of the girls. Livie was so happy to be playing with her big sister. And Hannah was just thrilled that she could play with her without hearing her whine or cry. They were both so happyand having fun. The whole scene was exactly what I had envisioned when we planned for another baby. Someone to look up to Hannah. Someone for Hannah to play with.
They healed me last night. Not physically but emotionally. Which is exactly what I needed.

OMG. They’re so precious! I hope my two girls will get along this well. It’s exactly what I’ve been dreaming about too!
Hang in there. Shred is wicked hard, but the results are visible and fab!

Love the pics! So sweet.
I really like the 30 Day Shred, but my main beef with it is the name. I think it’s false advertising to claim you can get someone in shape in 30 days. It’s entirely dependent on what shape the person is in to begin with. So, if you’re starting from a place where you haven’t exercised much before, it might take you longer than 30 days. And that’s FINE. If the end goal is to get in shape & lose weight, it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t happen overnight. You’ll get there when you get there.
Point being, be careful not to push yourself TOO hard, despite what Jillian and her scary eyebrows say about it. You don’t need to give yourself an injury that would put you back at square one. But also: way to go, you! That’s awesome that you’re doing it & sticking with it.
And P.S., even after doing this workout video for ages, I still do girly-style push-ups with my knees on the floor. I figure I’ll be strong enough to do regular push-ups someday, but I’m sure not there yet.

That’s good to know. I see now that i’m totally NOT gonna lose the 10 pounds I wanted to lose. But I am seeing some toning going on. I’ll def give a final report after I finish the whole month. It’s gonna be a LONG month. LOL and I’ve NEVER been able to do regular push ups. Even when I was totally in shape. Just can’t. Ah well.

I don’t think the video says you’re going to be in shape after 30 days. It says youc an lose 20 lbs in 30 days – shredding the weight.
I can’t believe you are already up to level 2. It took at least 3 weeks, and I never made it up to level 3. Although my friends that did, said they thought level 2 was worse than Level 3.
I told you you’d want to punch Jillian in the face, didn’t I?!
