Wind down, Wind up
After a busy beginning of the week, the rest of my week was very chill. Lots of down time with the girls and the Little Man. But this weekend? We party. Dates with friends with birthdays and friends we haven’t seen for a while. It’s gonna be a good one. Lots to come on Monday.
But to close the week out, just a few randoms. Have a fantastic weekend all of you. And you Blogher people? Still jealous.

Summer living
As promised, more cute pool pictures.
It’s Friday today. It’s the weekend. I like Fridays to be laid back so I decided to let that reflect on my blog today. No deep thinking. No pondering. No goals or plans. Just fun, summer pool pictures and happy kids.
Oh yes and Livie back in her cute pink bathing suit.
We stayed out at the pool for 2 hours yesterday in the hot, Texas summer sun. The only reason we left? Too many pink kiddo noses that sunscreen just wasn’t combating or else we probably would have stayed out there all day.
And also grateful for cousins who not only watch us ride horses but also come swimming with us.
The big kids are fun to watch, yes. But this? This kills me. Her cuteness. *sigh*
After lunch and a short nap, my girls were back at it again. Instead of swimming though, they chose hair bows as their afternoon fun.
Today? Like I said, relaxing.
I did some laundry and vacuumed the floors. The girls’ cousin is back for some more playing while I clean up from a whole week of slacking on my part. Sunday is my 30th birthday. I’ll be back then for some thoughts. Have a great weekend.
Truly summer
I don’t categorize summer here by the temperatures because it’s hot from March on. I instead categorize it by how much more busy I am in this stay at home mom life I’ve begun. Hannah’s barely home as she’s over cousin’s houses or friend’s houses on sleep overs and vacations. I didn’t take one picture of her this week from Tuesday on because she just got home last night. How’s that for a busy summer for her? I told her this morning that I hated that she never lets me take pictures of her anymore. Her response? A sheepish grin and an “I’m bored”.
6 more weeks of that to look forward to.
What have I been doing this week? Well it’s been disgustingly hot with highs in the upper 90s and the humidity right at about 70% so we’ve opted for a lot of patio time in the early morning and indoor time by late morning on.
We being me, Livie, and the tiny baby I’m nannying now.
Just when I was starting to wonder if me not working was really going to work out my friend who just had a baby in April called me and asked if the nanny offer I made her back in January still stood. HELL YES IT STILL STANDS is what I said back to her! Yesterday was the first day I had him, the Little Man as I like to refer to him as. He’ll be 3 months old next week and he’s so super sweet. We love him already.
So with the heat and having the baby, we’ve definitely have been quite comfy staying inside. It called for longer naps…
And a little extra Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Hannah leaves on Sunday AGAIN for yet another trip with the grandparents so it’ll just be The Man, Liv, and me for a few days. Oh and yes, the Little Man who will be back on Tuesday. Hoping to get some good pictures this weekend as picture taking was light this week with our sort of new schedule. It’s mid summer for us here who go by the school year as our guide for seasons. Planning to really sink our feet in deep for the next few weeks before back to school is on our minds.

I’m not joking. I had no idea how filthy it was underneath my couches nor how many old, useless toys were under there until I dropped something and happened to look underneath. I was disgusted. Now it’s all clean and I feel better.

Watching her be silly.
Knowing she’s sleepy and just can’t fight it anymore.
Knowing that although some days will be hectic with both girls home, the fact that I GET to be home? I love that.
Did some…left some
Hannah stayed at The Man’s mom’s house last night so I laid in bed last night thinking about sleeping in without having to get Hannah to school. Then I got up this morning and while I wanted to just sit around and relax I decided I’d tackle some things I’ve been putting off for a bit.
Like my oil change that I needed two thousand miles ago. And while I was at it, I got my car washed and detailed.
I also went ahead and finished my Mother’s Day shopping. Got these for The Man’s mom and his step mom and I wish I had more money cause I wanted to get them for myself.
I also successfully made my little girl crack up with something as simple as a baby wipe, or as she calls it, a “bipey” (wipey).
I also caught her being sweet to Paco.
What I didn’t do today?
The dishes.
Take away the tortilla chips.
That’s ok though because she’s happy today. And so am I.

Midweek mundane
All of you people that work, this question is for you. Well I guess even if you don’t work, this is still for you. Ever notice that the middle of the week takes forever to come and then it gets here and you’re all YAY! It’s Wednesday. Only 2 more days til the weekend! But then it takes ANOTHER forever to get to Friday. Then Friday gets here and the day drags and seems to take as long as the whole week took just for the evening to come when you’re finally free. That’s me today. Just sitting here thinking about stuff like that instead of stuff I SHOULD be thinking about like writing my resignation letter…or what I’m going to wear out Saturday night for our limo night out with friends/family (can’t wait for that btw!)….or what I’m going to dress the girls in to take blue bonnet pictures on Sunday…but nope. Instead I’m sitting here thinking about how time passes during the week and how I revolve everything around it all.
Exciting huh?
I’ve been in a kinda sorta funk this week just because I don’t wanna be at work and so I’ve not taken out my camera since SUNDAY….SUNDAY! I know. I have taken a few pics on my phone though because sometimes my girls do cute things and my camera isn’t near BUT my phone always is.

And then there’s always when I feel like amusing myself and my friends so I’ll take pictures like this and then text it to them and tell them I love them.
It is quite obvious that I need a hobby.
Or something.
Thankfully after I quit I’ll have my life as a hobby. That’s legit, right?
